To race ‘neath moonless sky.
I had to run one mile bare,
With both hands held up high.
New moon magic welled within
But only dark light shed
Upon my road or my bare skin
My hands clasped ‘oer my head
T’was just a silly little game,
A childish whim, that’s all.
Yet something raged I could not tame.
I felt the dark moon’s call.
Madness came. I shed my clothes
And threw them all away.
The roaring beast within me rose;
Within,bare skin held sway.
I ran beneath a moonless sky
In only darkness clothed.
If naked morning light did spy,
Then I would be exposed.
Yet only with dare’s deed done
Was I bound to be set free.
Dark moon and I would be as one
In madness’ symmetry.
My bare dare-dance, no more a game,
It was a pledge that bound.
Moon-naked flesh o’er mind insane
Was how my self I found.
Naked girl who was so bold,
Brazen, bound and bare,
Glad to do as she was told,
To brave the nude-night air.
I dared my dearest dream that night
And danced in darkness raw.
I must have been a pretty sight.
None save the dark moon saw.
