The fallacies of a broken mind,
Forbidden fruit, seen with hidden eyes,
Courtesies behind the lies,
It was not love, it wasn’t kind.
This marriage: it was all a sham.
No mystery; nothing to find,
Splinters of a broken life,
Sinful thoughts from yesterday,
Bear the facts, come what may.
A bitter taste, I am his wife.
The record book, forced, I signed.
A shade of autumn, in the bed,
Hope crushed from me – now fright,
Illusions, like it’s just a dream,
Too scared to fail; cannot scream,
Duties done: my wedding night.
Innocence lost, tears to shed.
Drifting deeper, tale of deceit,
Salted eyes – life set in stone?
Your swollen pride assumes I’m yours,
But in your plan, I’ve found flaws,
Talons fly, you’re all alone,
Another man suckles on my teat.
I was not bought: ’twas soiled coin!
Sordid tale; hidden from sight,
End the vows, a veiled lie,
Another bed: he makes me sigh;
A love so pure, a sleepless night,
What was apart can now join.
