The Pearl

Perfect round hiding in its shell
Balancing within the folds
Of soft succulent nectar rain
Push back the protective cover
And reveal the prize within

Taste of simple water
Or honey dew
As it passes into my mouth
And trickles down my throat

The smile as the temperature rise
Salty water rolls down
Pouring and swelling
Seizing and bidding the blood
To reach the surface

Break and release
Rushing like a geyser
Simplicity arise
And elation is born

As the prize
Recedes into its enclosure
Waters escape
Covering the treasure’s delicateness
