Lost To Me…

Although our lives were separated, by distance of two continents
You awoke my desires, my hopes and the beat of my heart with just your smile
For the first time, I discovered the truth and understanding of the word love
You showed me your beauty, as I looked upon a woman for the first time with eyes of wonder
Every waking moment, and every night of darkness your face was captured into my memory
Every curve of your figure, every moan of hot breath I heard escape from your sweet lips.

But then, you faded into distant memory of what once was
And with it, you took my beating heart unto which I have never recovered
Your face, your smile, your beauty I still long for
I felt crushed that you would leave without meaning
Or understanding of the tormented soul you leave behind.

And yet, like a lost dog
I remain sat here, silent, waiting patiently in hope
For your return one day to make me understand
Awakening each morning, with sadness of discovering you still lost from me.
