Emotions…

Emotions are a funny thing…
They range from the simple ones like joy, sorrow, lust and fear
To the more complex ones like love, hate and anger
Most of these emotions tend to build over time
Sometimes over short periods of time while others take longer
I like to compare each to how a flame burns
Some start small like candles and grow over time, slowly and cautiously
Others erupt into full-fledged fires raging out of control
It doesn’t matter what emotion it is they all work this way
The real problem is how to handle the fires that they create
Candles are easy to manage and maintain, as you grow that emotion, you add more candles
Eventually those candles are bright enough to light the entire city
Full-fledged fires are the hardest to handle as they tend to be difficult to control
Even the biggest of fires burns bright enough to light several cities if need be
But in the end all that matters is the warmth that they create no matter what the emotion
We all need a little more warmth in our lives
Be it from small candles or raging fires
